"Botanical beauty, made by hand and heart."
I create organic, vegan, cruelty‑free skincare and scent that feel spa‑calm and earth‑kind, pairing craft with conscience so everyday rituals become a little more restorative.
📖 Who I Am
I’m Darlene Dean—most people call me Dar—and I run Prettykarma in the UK, as a shared family venture with my beautiful daughter Rio, a collaboration bringing a shared love of nature‑led design and soothing self‑care moments.
💼 What I Do
Prettykarma is my home for handmade fragrance and skincare: perfumes, soaps, bath teas, balms, serums, diffusers, candles and lip care. Everything we make is organic, vegan, and cruelty‑free, shaped by a natural, botanical, spa‑inspired aesthetic. You’ll often see collections introduced as “Prettykarma Presents,” and I love composing scents inspired by beloved classics—recognisable notes, reimagined the Prettykarma way. Many pieces are proudly labelled “Made in Ascot,” reflecting the brand’s UK roots.
⚙️ How I Work
I am hands‑on from concept to label. I favour clean, nature‑centric messaging and calm, tactile presentation so the experience feels considered from the first glance to the last lingering note. Collaboration matters to me; working with my business partner and daughter Rio keeps the craft playful and grounded while staying true to Prettykarma’s gentle ethos.
🌍 What Drives Me
Kindness is non‑negotiable—towards skin, animals, and the planet. I’m drawn to botanicals, uncomplicated formulas, and choices that reduce harm without sacrificing pleasure. I believe self‑care should feel nurturing and accessible, with products that invite you to slow down and breathe.
🎨 My Style
Nature does the talking. I lean into plant‑led palettes, soft spa cues, and clear, friendly copy that feels warm rather than shouty. My scent stories are grounded in familiarity with a light twist—comfort first, then curiosity.
